Looking to prepare for your practical driving test in a concentrated period of time? Crusade Driving School offers automatic intensive driving courses in Corby, Kettering and the surrounding areas for suitable learners, quick learners and drivers with good previous driving experience.
Our intensive courses are designed to provide several days of focused driving tuition leading up to your practical driving test. Courses are available from 10 to 40 hours, depending on your current driving ability, experience and level of preparation required.
An intensive driving course is a full-on and concentrated way of learning. You will be completing several hours of driving over a relatively short period, so these courses are generally more suitable for quick learners, people who already have some driving experience, or learners who are already reasonably close to test standard.
If you are a complete beginner or still require a significant amount of time to develop your basic driving skills, a normal programme of weekly lessons may be more appropriate.
The purpose of the assessment is to establish your current driving standard and help determine whether an intensive course is appropriate for you.
Before committing to an intensive course, we strongly recommend an assessment lesson at least 20 days before your practical driving test.
During the assessment, your instructor will look at your current driving ability, identify areas that need improvement and discuss which intensive course, if any, may be suitable for you.
The assessment also gives you time to make an informed decision. If your driving is not yet at the required standard for an intensive course, you may decide to choose a longer course or delay your test rather than trying to complete a course that is unlikely to provide enough preparation time.

Our intensive courses involve several hours of driving each day over a short period. This can be physically and mentally demanding, particularly for learners who are not used to spending long periods behind the wheel.
You should therefore be prepared for a demanding period of concentrated learning and be able to give your full attention to your driving throughout the course.
The aim is to make the most of the available time and prepare you as thoroughly as possible for your practical driving test.
We will make every reasonable effort to prepare you for your practical driving test during your intensive course. However, because intensive courses take place over a short period, we cannot guarantee that you will be ready for your test or that you will pass.
Your instructor will continually assess your progress throughout the course.
The test will only go ahead on test day if the drive immediately before the test indicates that your driving is at a safe enough standard for the practical test to proceed.
If your instructor considers that your driving is not yet at a suitable standard, the safest option may be to postpone the test and continue developing your driving skills.
You are responsible for booking and managing your own practical driving test with the DVSA.
The DVSA practical driving test fee is not included in the price of your intensive driving course.
